Leadership Profile

LHJ LAW is structured to effectively represent its clients by having two distinct, yet inter-connected, divisions of responsibility - Legal Operations and Office Operations.  Legal Operations manages all of the legal aspects of representing clients in and out of the courtroom.  Office Operations manages all of the operational aspects of running the business.  This structure benefits clients in that they can rest assured that there is a concentrated focus on their legal cases that is free from the time and distractions involved in managing common daily business tasks.  Legal Operations is managed by Leon H. Jones, and Office Operations is overseen by Eileen L. Doyle.  Their leadership profiles are outlined below.

Leon H. Jones

J.D., Attorney

Manager of Legal Operations

With over 20 years of handling serious, complex criminal cases in the courtroom, both on the prosecution and the defense side, and having established LHJ LAW, Leon Jones is highly qualified to manage the Legal Operations of the office, including case assessment, strategy development, research/writing, client communication, and courtroom performance.

Upon moving to the United States after growing up in England and Canada, he graduated from the University of Tampa before obtaining his Juris Doctorate (J.D.) at Stetson University College of Law.  Early in his career he was a Felony Prosecutor in Hillsborough County.  Since starting LHJ LAW in 1997, Attorney Jones has defended hundreds of clients throughout the State of Florida in cases from the investigative stage up through jury trial.  He has handled numerous cases in State and Federal Court including, but not limited to, Murder/Homicide, Aggravated Battery & Assault/Domestic Violence, Racketeering (R.I.C.O.), Drug Trafficking/Delivery/Possession, Armed Kidnapping/Robbery/Burglary/Theft, Violation of Supervision and other crimes against persons or property. Of course, he has also handled bail bond motions and represented individuals charged with misdemeanor and/or criminal traffic offenses.

He is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (N.A.C.D.L.).  He has also held the Series 7 and Series 63 licenses to sell investment and insurance products.

Attorney Jones believes that the law acts as both a sword and a shield for the protection of society.  At the same time, he recognizes that the Criminal Justice System creates a strain on not only the accused, but on family, friends, and employers.  His skill and experience on both sides of the aisle is brought to bear for every client that entrusts him with his or her case.  He believes that, beyond skill and experience, it is the degree of diligence in working a case that has the greatest impact on the results obtained for a client.  Attorney Jones understands that clients rightly expect a high level of personalized attention to their cases.  Clients often also prefer that the attorney they hire will be the attorney handling their case(s) in and out of the courtroom. Many referred clients have stated that these were significant factors in their decision to retain LHJ LAW.
